GOD SHEILDS THE WOMEN WHO PRAYS

 


Today in this article I want to talk about the women who prays. God takes a stand for the women who prays. There is a global level behavioral pattern among men in which they look down at women. Society casts her aside, men over look her. The level of this behavior is higher especially when a women is a homemaker. But I want to encourage all women out there that God is a God of justice and he never overlooks you and your prayers. When a women falls down on her knees and bows her head down in reverence to God, the heaven stands at attention. Like how a train moves by fuel, God moves by prayers. Throughout history there have been many incidences where the heavens have moved, like the wars, the governments changing and men receiving abundance of wealth, but there is one power that transcends them all. The power that reaches the very throne room of God is the power of a praying women.

A praying women does not rely on her own strength, she does not trust in the muscle power of men or the power of wealth. She knows that the battle is not won by might or fleeting men, but only by the spirit of the living God. I said the Spirit of God because most Christians miss this fact that God exists among us only in the form of Holy Spirit and he is a spirit form. Whenever we pray the response comes in a voice form and that is the “Spirit of God”. He guides us and leads us, the prayers that are truly answered are the ones that are done in obedience to the spirit of God. Galatians 5:16 says, "let the Holy Spirit guide your lives".

Prayers of women have proven to move heavens from the pages of the bible, we see that God responds to the cries of a praying women. One of the most powerful examples is Hannah, she was a women who knew sorrow, she was baron and overlooked, but she did not lash out in anger. Hannah took her burden to the lord. She made fervent prayers and God saw the depth of her agony. He opened her womb and gave her a son Samuel, who later grew up and became a mighty prophet of Israel.

My personal experience

I conceived my child through prayers. I could feel the power of God releasing in my body, on to my belly when I applied the self-anointed oil. All I did was, I took some drops of oil into my palm and anointed it saying, “I convert this oil into the blood of Jesus and I command every sickness in my abdomen, be it endometriosis or cysts, be it anything I command it to leave my body in the name of Jesus” and I applied the oil and miracle did happen. I felt God’s power. I am a happy mother of a 4 year old boy now.    

Initially, when I was encountering problems while trying to get pregnant I did not look at God for help, because it had been over ten years I neither felt nor received God's touch. I remained prayerful, constantly praying for my Muslim family to receive Him. However, my faith wavered as I did not get my dream job despite my persistent prayers. Then the spirit of God interfered and guided me to experience his healing power. God was willing and so this happened. This is exactly why the bible emphasis the fact that prayers have to be in accordance with the will of God. Sometimes, when I confess nothing happens, but when I make confessions upon hearing the Spirit of God I definitely receive a healing. During my pregnancy I suffered severe back pain and I was not putting it in prayer rather I depended on medication, because sometimes when I get sick and upon praying over it I receive an answer, “take a medicine and you’ll be fine”.

Later, there came a point of time where the medication was not working and the back pain was getting unbearable, then the spirit of God told me, “there is a demonic spirit around you, rebuke it in the name of Jesus”. I did what he said and I was horrified seeing a black structure leaving my body. Did you see the movies spider man 3 and venom, the black crawling thing was exactly what I saw leaving my body. So, put everything in prayer.

When a women prays strongholds fall.

The Canaanite women in Mathew 15, she came to Jesus pleading for her demon possessed daughter. At first Jesus ignored her, the disciples wanted to send her away but she did not give up. She kept praying and she kept pressing in, because of her consistency her daughter was healed. This is the kind of prayer that moves God, the kind that refuses to quit. If you want to be a women of prayer then build an attitude of never turning back. Learn the art of consistency and patience. Do not turn back for not seeing immediate results, wait and press on. Pray quoting the word of God. You might be facing an impossible situation today, may be your marriage is falling apart, may be you are struggling with your finances, may be your children are walking in rebellion, don’t depend on your manual capabilities. Keep praying about every concern of yours. God is faithful.

The enemy hates when a Christian is prayerful. Don’t get distracted by his tactics. He comes in the form of a voice of disappointment. He whispers in your ears, “Your prayers are in vain, God is not responding”. James 5:16, declares that “the prayers of a righteous person are effective and powerful”. That includes us- women. A woman's prayers do not stem from mere routine; she prays with the weight of her family's well-being in her heart, trusting in God's power. Such selfless prayers are always pleasing to God. 

I encourage all of you today to be a women of prayer. Don’t hesitate to ask God. God is capable of giving more than what we can think of.

  • Ephesians 3:20: "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us".
  • 2 Corinthians 9:8: "And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that you may always have all sufficiency in every way, being able to abound to every good work" 
  • Philippians 4:19: "God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

THE RIGHT CONDUCT

I had a friend who used to have a long list of prayer requests that she was putting in prayer every day. She would hold that paper and ask God to fulfil her needs. She comes from a financially weak background and so she decided to depend on God for everything. You will laugh when I tell you about what all was on her list. A nail paint, a nail paint remover, a lipstick, a new dress for Sunday church, smart phone and so on……, it ended with a husband with a BMW car. These kinds of prayers are all rubbish and are never pleasing to God. Teach your daughters to pray properly. Teach them not to have sex before marriage. Teach them how to walk a life that is pleasing to God.

Another friend of mine was quite contrary to the one I mentioned above, with just a few years of experience with Christ, I could say that this girl’s prayers were right. She would seek God’s will in her studies (which college to join), for her job and in marriage. She would wait to hear God’s voice. She would always quote this in prayer, “Lord not mine, but let your will be done”. She would say, “I trust you Lord, I trust your will, guide me Lord and speak to me”. She would go up on the roof and sit in prayer every day.  She would ask the Lord to protect her parents and to take care of their deteriorating health and finances. She would seek God’s voice whenever her mother would suggest a guy for her to marry.

She would avoid the girls who were ungodly and she would never go to movie theaters. Though she was constantly bullied for being boring, she never let go of her love for God. Girls used to bully her calling Mary, Martha, Mother Theresa and many more such names. 1 Peter 2:12, says "Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that, though they speak evil against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation."  

 She said to me once, “I feel the safest when I put God before me. I want to marry someone who loves God like I do and someone who would lead my future kids into the Lord, I want to serve God along with my husband and children after marriage”. She shared her testimony of how God protected her when she was travelling alone to different cities in hunt of jobs, how she felt the presence of God moving alone with her. She told me about an incident where she was about to get into a terrible accident, but God called her by name and said to her, “stop right here, do not move”, she immediately stopped her bike and missed the truck with failed breaks. She quoted the bible verses that say, “God will keep you without a sleep and a slumber”, she said, “our God is almighty and amazing”.

I felt so right about her conduct.  1 Timothy 4:12, "Let no one despise your youth, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity." She was reflecting exactly what’s written in this bible verse. She would also do earnest prayers for me when she came to know about the difficulties I was facing with my Muslim background. She would call and enquire about my situation and pray for me.

These kinds of prayers are the ones pleasing to God. Earnest and selfless.

YOU ARE A THREAT TO DEVIL

A praying women is covered in God’s power and the greatest threat to devil. He is not moved by physical strength, beauty or status, what shakes him to a core is the women who knows her authority in Christ. Whenever you pray, start by saying this, “God forgive me my sins and cover me, my family (mention them by their names) and my house with your blood”. This will stop him from entering your premises.

Initially, when I just started of praying I encountered hundreds of demonic attacks. I would get up at 4 in the morning for prayer. I was unaware of the powers of devil and I suffered disturbances from him. Mosquitoes would suddenly come in swarms like never before and would bite me making it impossible for me to pray. I would hear the voice of a girl howling in the dark and I could feel her spirit sitting in the dark corner of my room. As soon as I start my prayer my arms would pain making it impossible for me to hold them in prayer posture. I could feel a giant spirit standing behind me and pulling my arms. I would also see naked body parts like it was a forceful vision thrown onto me. I would get confused thinking what it was. One morning I finished my prayer and to my amazement, as soon as I opened my eyes and turned to my right, my sister was sitting right beside me, she watched me in silence. I was horrified, it appeared as if she got possessed. She did not speak a word, just got up, walked like a dead person and went to bed falling asleep immediately. I would suffer burning sensation in my back where my hand could not reach and when I looked into the mirror there was nothing. My exams were getting close and I was sitting with books in my lap and was seeking God’s help in studies, my cousin who was 6 or 7 years old then, suddenly turned to me with a demonic smile on her face and said, “Your God is not capable” and she went out of the room. That left me in goosebumps and I started to sweat even though the AC was on. I was horrified and shocked for the rest of the day.  

Later, by experience and the guidance of God I learnt how to protect myself. Devil hates the women in church who dedicate their lives to prayer. We lost a sister who was the leading prayer warrior of our church to death. She brought many Hindu women to church and guided them into the Lord. After a few years, we could all sense that she was being attacked, but somehow the church failed in protecting her. Her mind was under attack. She took sleeping pills one day to overcome it but she died with overdose. Nobody knows that the overdose was by mistake or intentional or demonic. I don’t want to scare you but I definitely want you to know the seriousness of this issue. Devil is very active in destroying a praying women’s life. So, dear women be careful, vigilant and watchful. Make yourself aware of the devils tactics and learn how to protect yourself and your family. He knows how to separate you from God, he knows exactly that your kids are your weakness, don’t let him play, ask God for protection.
