If you're a new believer in Christ, your journey will feel like a joyful ride on a magic carpet. However, you may not realize that this enchanting experience won't last forever. Eventually, you'll face the harsh realities of life and challenges will come that feel overwhelming—testing your faith in ways you never expected. You'll encounter struggles that will shake your spirit, doubts that cloud your mind and attacks that stir confusion and chaos in your spiritual walk. I had no one to guide me through these trials, so I've decided to make a small attempt to help beginners like myself in this journey.
For People from other religious backgrounds like me (a Muslim) the initial days are good because God's grace is all around you and everything is sweet and fed in a silver spoon, but the next few years can be chaotic because you'll be experiencing the real devil now. It's crucial that you understand how the Christian realm works. You must know who Jesus is and how his spirit (The Holy Spirit) works, you must know more about who devil is and how his spirit's work.
Attending church in the initial days might give you panic attacks because it’s all new for us. They sing songs and dance for the Lord, they call it “worship”. They give money to church which they call it “tithe”. They speak in an alien like language which they call “speaking in “tongues”. You get to learn about Salvation and being born again.
Make some good friends in church. Ask God to help you feel his presence there, for this prayer of yours he will surely respond with great love, trust me on that. Pray and ask God to give you the joy of worship. The next time you attend church you will see that you are no longer scared, instead you will find yourself enjoying singing songs for the Lord like everybody else there. You might not enjoy every song, it depends on person to person and the kind of music we like, so it’s not a sin again if you are not able to feel God’s presence and that warmth during worship. God will address you personally whenever there is need.
Acquaint yourself with all possible kinds of demonic attacks and brace yourself for it. Seek God’s help in the initial days for everything through prayers, ask him to protect you and keep you surrounded in grace. Once you receive Jesus as your Savior, devil’s activate button is on and he is in full on action mode now. He wants to stop you from attending church, he wants to stop you from having a normal peaceful life and there is so much more to this topic. Please read my articles “attacked by everyone” and “attacks from family” to know more about how the devil’s schemes for attacking you. It’s not like a war where the enemy comes in a chariot with his soldiers to conquer your land, but it is a war where the enemy comes in the form of a questioning voice, more like a snake’s hissing sound, “why would God allow this difficult situation on you?”, “if God loved you so much then why this delay, where was He all these years?”. And it’s like a war where enemies are not very far, they are mostly your loved ones. In this war, it's not your land that's under attack—it's your mind, your happiness, every moment of joy, and your peace of mind, day after day.
Jesus- Your Spiritual Teacher
Whenever you find yourself in the middle of a storm, just pray to Jesus, and He will take care of you. In bible God says, Isaiah 41:13: "For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you. So keep faith and don’t worry, don’t magnify your problem, instead magnify God in your imagination. He was the one who split the red sea to rescue his people, he is capable of doing that again for you. He did that for many of us- non Christian believers, he will do it for you too.
Exodus 14:21-22, “where Moses raises his hand over the sea, and the Lord causes a strong east wind to blow, splitting the sea and allowing the Israelites to walk through on dry ground”.
I am the only believer in Christ Jesus in my entire family, which includes around 150 to 200 relatives and cousins. It was incredibly challenging at first, but God miraculously connected me with some young girls from non-Christian backgrounds, like mine. Together, we attended a church that the Lord led us to and with the guidance of the church elders, our journey became much smoother.
Getting out of the house to attend church sessions was a struggle in the beginning, later by the guidance of fellow Christians from other religious backgrounds helped me. They guided me to pray and leave it to God and not to feel anxious about it, missing church sometimes when you’re not able to make it is not a sin. I also fell for the wrong guidance of many such seniors in church. So you guys don’t repeat this mistake, God never forces anything nor punishes his believers for not attending church. To receive life threats every day from family is normal if you are a believer living in a Muslim family. Ask God to help you come out of it. But sometimes it is God’s will that you stay within them, like it was for me, so obey God if that is the case with you too.
Over a few years you will get accustomed with how Jesus works, you will get accustomed to his spirit’s (Holy Spirit) voice. In John 10:14 Jesus states "I am the good shepherd; and I know my own, and my own know me". You will be able to distinguish God’s voice and evil spirits voice. It’s just the matter of time, so hold on tight.
Hope
All of us who have recently accepted Christ as our Savior have come to Him with a hope—whether it's the hope of being freed from a life of curse, from spiritual bondage, or seeking deliverance from illness, either for ourselves or our loved ones. There is no human on earth who has zero expectations from God. Even if he/she is a servant of God they will have a hope that the Lord will bless their kids. There is nothing wrong in having hopes but the problem begins when the newcomers like you and me start treating the Lord like a genie. Don’t be like a nagging child who always demands the parents and always keeps asking for things more and more. God delivers people from all kinds of sickness during live sessions and we also see Him delivering people from possession of evil spirits, but during some sessions the man or women on the stage, be it the church pastor or an evangelist, they somehow increase the level of hope among all of us sitting there. They talk about how God elevated them financially from nothing, how God blessed them with a beautiful house with swimming pool in it, a luxury car and Rolex watches. Please don’t absorb all that into your heads, because even if God has elevated their family financially that might not be the will of God for everyone sitting around. God usually doesn’t care about your luxury, he does see and takes care of your needs, but it is never the will of God to make every Christian a billionaire. It is written in bible many times that looks after our needs, not luxuries, Philippians 4:19, which states, "God will meet all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" and in Psalm 23:1: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."
He seeks souls and is very desperate about it. That is why we see new believers receiving God’s touch more frequently in church sessions and sermons. It is his will for every man and women on earth to accept Jesus Christ as lord. But unfortunately churches all around the world don’t talk about it much.
It’s not about money always
If you have accepted Jesus as your savior then God’s no. one desire for you will be, to use you as his source so He can seep into your family members through you. Ask God to guide you and enlighten you regarding his will for you. It’s not what pastor’s talk about, it’s not about asking God for a luxury house or financial uplifting like I mentioned above.
There are two kinds of miracles, one is a one-time event miracle in which we see God healing people from sickness and possession instantly by the blood of Jesus and there is another kind where long-term prayers work miracles. If you have a child then start praying for his/her protection, salvation, job and ask God to bless the child financially after he/she reaches adulthood. If you have a family with non-believers keep praying for their salvation and wait unto God because this is going to take many years of time. If you do have a desire for a luxurious life then there is nothing wrong to start sowing it through prayers but be careful because the love of money can be an open door to devil.
Just a short intro on who is Jesus?
Understanding Jesus begins with exploring the historical context of his life. Jesus of Nazareth, believed to be the Son of God and the Messiah, lived in the region of Palestine over two thousand years ago. Historical accounts of his life, recorded in the New Testament of the Bible, depict him as a teacher, healer, and spiritual leader who preached a message of love, compassion, and social justice.
From a historical perspective, Jesus was born into a Jewish family and grew up in a society heavily influenced by Jewish religious and cultural practices. His teachings often drew upon Jewish scriptures and traditions, emphasizing themes of mercy, forgiveness, and the Kingdom of God.
