A woman’s role often extends beyond the physical boundaries of daily chores of home, it’s not just cooking, serving, washing and cleaning. Providing emotional strength, nurturing care and spiritual guidance are also the most profound ways by which a woman supports and uplifts her family. By the power of prayer, particularly when we as wives lift our husbands in heartfelt supplication, it’s an act of love, faith, and unwavering support, fostering a foundation of resilience, unity, and divine purpose within the family. Regardless of how much we discuss gender equality and say women can do everything than men can do, we know that he is the hero for our kids. We all know that our husbands remain the strong foundation of the home; after all, we cherish everything that is precious, then why not raise it in prayer.
God and we humans are partners in life, much like a team working together. God cannot protect, help, bless, or act in our favor unless we maintain a strong, meaningful relationship with Him. There were times when God tried to guide me, showing me the path He had chosen for my career, but I wasn’t responding. It wasn’t until I watched Joyce Meyer’s videos that I truly understood—God spoke to me, reminding me that we are partners and we must walk together to bring His plans to manifest.
If you’re looking for prayers for your husband, this quick guide is here to help. While it may not address your specific needs, it can offer guidance that you can personalize to fit your unique situation.
Here is a list of daily prayer points that you can include-
- His health
- His work
- His friendships
- His protection
A Prayer for His Health
Health struggles seem to make everything else harder. You can ask God to give your husband good health according to His will and to help you all when health is a struggle.
In addition to prayer, we should also be mindful of our husband’s diet. We can’t expect God to bless us with good health if we’re constantly indulging in junk food. Today’s food is often heavily adulterated, making it feel like we’re taking pills that invite health issues into our lives. So, ladies, let’s be conscious of what we’re feeding our families.
Sometimes, God speaks to us about our diets. I recall a man from church who testified that he lost nearly half of his body weight within days and doctors couldn’t figure out the cause. When he prayed, God directed him to focus on his gut health. Similarly, when I was struggling with general weakness, God guided me to make changes in my diet. Over time, He led me to proper meal timings and now He’s encouraging me to explore microgreens.
I hope you all also receive the right guidance from our wonderful God
Here is a small prayer-
Dear Lord, Please bless my husband’s health today. Help him to feel well so he can accomplish his duties and goals. When he struggles with his health, please heal him. And if it is Your will to teach us something through this struggle, help us to learn to rest in You and that You will provide. Amen
A Prayer for his work.
Deuteronomy 8:18
You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
Many men deeply connect with their professions, as God designed them to be so. Pray for your husband to achieve his work goals, make wise career moves and grow in knowledge and success in his job.
Here is a small prayer-
Dear Lord, Please bless my husband as he starts his day. Fill him with strength and positivity so he can stay focused on his work. Grant him restful sleep and wisdom beyond measure when faced with tough decisions. Most of all, Lord, be right by his side—guide him every step of the way, and let your presence speak louder than any words ever could.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A prayer for your husband’s friendships
Pray that the Lord will give your husband good friends. The people we surround ourselves with have a profound impact on our lives, influencing us with both positivity and negativity. As the famous bible verse says, 1 Peter 5:8 says: “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
It’s not always possible for your husband to be surrounded by godly friends, especially in his workplace where people come from diverse cultures, backgrounds and belief systems. This diversity often brings a range of mindsets and influences.
As wives, the best thing we can do is pray and cast our cares on Him. Prayer is vital because when a man faces turmoil at work, that weariness can spill over into family life, affecting the home’s peace. Through prayer, we can seek God’s protection and strength for our husbands, helping them carry their burdens with grace.
Ask our Heavenly Father to surround your husband with other men striving to provide for the family and those who are responsible and family values instilled people. Who we spend our time with has a significant influence on our life. Therefore, ask God to provide your husband with good friends. Ask God to give your husband the ability to identify “backstabbing mindset” and the wisdom to play wise thereafter.
Jesus is our rock-solid Friend who never abandons us, but He also encourages us to build connections with people in the flesh, so it’s not a sin to be friends with non-believers. It’s just that we must be careful. Sometimes I feel like my non-Christian background friends are much more matured and practical. I have got many church friends who are not only annoying but also foolish. So I don’t recommend praying to God, asking him to surround our men with believer friends. Good friends are enough. Bible refers to having good friends in many chapters, one such is- Proverbs 27:9: “Like ointment and perfume that refresh the heart, so a friend’s counsel is sweet.”
Today we ask for God’s guidance as our husband builds and cultivates meaningful friendships that will challenge him spiritually and mentally – wise friends who can help sharpen his faith just like iron sharpens iron, Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another“. We pray he has discernment when choosing good company over bad, so he stays on a righteous path! Amen.
A prayer for his protection
Ask God in prayer to protect your husband as he travels to work, throughout his day and wherever he goes. I shared this same prayer point in my blog—A Prayer for Your Child—and I’m repeating it here because, after all, husbands are just the grown-up versions of our kids. We women know this to be true. Pray that God brings him home safely to you each day. Ask the Lord to walk ahead of him, guarding him physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The devil knows where to strike us, he knows are weakness. He knows that when he attacks our kids and husband, we women-our faith in God will fluctuate for sure. It is a sure shot thing for him, so ladies be careful and vigilant, do pray for your family every day.
Here is a small prayer-
With a humble heart, I ask that you oh! God surround my husband with the unshakable safety of your refuge. May he find comfort and strength under your watchful care and may your favor guide his steps like a faithful shield, protecting him in every way. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
